The Wingate Institute is situated on an autonomous College of Physical Education, a School for Coaches and Instructors, Professional Departments for Sports Medicine and Research, a Pedagogical Center (including a Library, Audio- Visual Department and The National Archives of Physical Education), Halls of Residence, Gymnasia, Catering and Dining services, Sport Amenities, Sports hotel, and a Synagogue. 120 acres of campus which includes Framework of Activities:

THE NAT HOLMAN SCHOOL FOR COACHES AND INSTRUCTORS
The School is empowered by the Sports Law to train coaches and instructors in competitive and non-competitive sports and conducts courses for referees, managers of recreational facilities and sport administrators.
It has over the years prepared thousands of professional personnel who have contributed to the development of sport and physical education at all levels.
As well, it trains instructors to work with senior citizens, the physically and mentally challenged and conducts special programmes for the Blind and the social rehabilitation of the underprivileged.
THE RIBSTEIN CENTRE FOR RESEARCH, SPORT MEDICINE AND PHYSIOTHERAPY
The Centre provides medical services and information to all athletes regarding daily training and goals. The medical staff diagnoses and treats professional and amateur sportsmen as well as the general public for sport-related injuries, offers physical examinations and a range of physiological, physiotherapy, psychological services, nutrition and physical fitness consultations.
Ongoing research is conducted into the physiological and psychological aspects of exercises and human performance in relation to movement, amongst which are the effects of nutritional additives on performance, factors relating to recovery after activity, reactions of children to physical effort, and the effects of extreme temperatures on performance. Joint projects with leading medical institutions are also conducted on physical activity in relationship to illnesses such as osteoporosis, cystic fibrosis and hemophilia.
The universally accepted Wingate Anaerobic Test (WANT) for measuring the anerobic muscle power of an athlete was developed at the Institute some 25 years ago.
THE TERNER PEDAGOGICAL CENTRE
The Centre comprises the Zvi Nishri Archives, the Units for audio visual, multi-media, in-house publishing, and the Centre for Historical Studies of Physical Education and Sport. Linked to the Internet, it is the national centre for information in all matters relating to physical education, sport and sport medicine science, and serves the academic staff, researchers, students, as well as interested members of the general public.
The ZVI NISHRI Archive
of the History of Physical Education and Sport in Israel
was founded in 1968.
The archive contains information regarding Sport and Physical Education from the years before the establishment of the state of Israel, Jewish sport abroad before 1948 and all the aspects of Sport and Physical Education in Israel from 1948 to this day.

THE ELITE SPORTS UNIT
The operating arm of the Israel Olympic Committee, the Unit is a joint venture with the Sport Authority. It focuses on the development and advancement of Israel’s elite athletes and supervises the planning and preparations of Israel’s Olympic Squad for the Olympic Games and World Championships.
CENTRE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SPORT GIFTEDNESS
Established in 1990, the Centre aims at developing to the maximum the potential of young talented athletes. Selected on merit, these sport-gifted youth – boys and girls – board at Wingate and train in 4 sports – judo, swimming, volleyball (male and female) and tennis. Coached by top-level professionals, and under constant medical supervision, these young athletes train intensively and represent Israel at international competitions where they have obtained extremely creditable results.
THE INTERNATIONAL JEWISH SPORTS HALL OF FAME
The Hall of Fame was founded in 1980 and honours Jewish sportsmen and women worldwide who have accomplished outstanding achievements in sports, or made significant contributions to Jewish life through sports. Over 290 Jewish sport personalities are inducted in the Hall of Fame, bringing honour and adding lustre to the rich history of Jews in sport.
THE ISRAEL SPORTS HALL OF FAME
The Israel Sports Hall of Fame was established in 1993, giving recognition to deserving Israeli sportsmen and women and to those who have represented Israel at Olympic Games. To date over 210 Israeli sportsmen who have brought honour to the State and helped developed sport in Israel, are listed.
THE BOOKING AND FACILITIES DEPARTMENT
This department is the nerve centre of the Wingate Institute and handles the thousands of bookings over the year for the facilities and services that wingate offers to a wide variety of its customers that include; students, trainers, coaches, corporate bodies, schools, the Israel Olympic committee, sport teams from Israel and abroad and members of the public
THE EVENTS DEPARTMENT
"Tailored to your Needs" is the catchword of this department whose task is to meet a specific request of a customer and build a day at Wingate to suit the needs and budget of a multitude of our customers. It offers its services and expertise to create seminars, functions, fun and sport days for a diverse field including schools, corporate bodies, councils and government departments.
